DT Construction LP was established by Don M. Thompson in 1996 after 22 years of experience in the commercial construction industry as a project manager and estimator. Mr. Thompson and his wife Constance have worked together for over 26 years building the company on a foundation of honesty and integrity which has resulted in graining a reputation as a general contractor that provides a quality product, on time and within budget. The highest standards of conduct are applied to client associations together with architects, subcontractors and suppliers. we can provide accurate job costing reports throughout the entire project. This accurate and extensive costing capability is mandatory for “cost plus” clients, and is vital to our in-house lump sum contract cost tracking as well.

Preconstruction Services
Planning a construction project before the actual construction begins. These services are often referred to as preconstruction or pre-con. It is a modern practice, considered to be part of construction project management, which is the overall planning, coordination, and control of a project from inception to completion aimed at meeting a client’s requirements in order to produce a functionally and financially viable project.
Conceptual Estimating
The prediction of the cost of the project. A conceptual estimate is usually performed as part of the project feasibility and analysis at the beginning of the project.
Budget Development & Preliminary Scheduling
Budget development is a detailed statement outlining estimated project costs to support the sponsored project. Preliminary Scheduling is a schedule attached to the Contract as Exhibit A pursuant to which the Design- Builder proposes to substantially complete the work.
Final Budgeting & Master Project Scheduling
Final Budgeting is achieving all the technical and performance requirements set out in the construction contract. The punch list items have been completed (unless the parties otherwise agree).
The contractor has transferred, to the owner of the project, title to all materials and equipment used in the construction of the project.
The final payment has been made to the contractor.

Foundational principle in forecasting the cost of construction of a structure.
Site Planning
Site plan or a plot plan is a type of drawing used by architects, landscape architects, urban planners, and engineers which shows existing and proposed conditions for a given area, typically a parcel of land which is to be modified.
Value Engineering
Offering cost saving suggestions and alternates to the owner of a project in an effort to reduce the cost.
Costs Savings Analysis
An analysis performed by a construction company or its workers to accurately identify where the company or project is using or ‘spending’ its money and resources – and whether or not this money is being well spent.
Agency Coordination
Providing the leadership, expertise, and authorities to implement critical and specific aspects of the response. Responsible for orchestrating a coordinated response.

DTC is soliciting firm information from DBE, M/WBE, SBE, and HUB subcontractors qualified in disciplines including, but not limited to, CSI Divisions 2 through 33. Qualified firms should submit an Estimating Contact Form.

We are a General Contractor that works ostensibly in the Houston area Market. The majority of our projects are K-12 Schools, and Municipal Buildings and we subcontract 95% of our contracted work.
